Property

The Property Committee, under the guidance of the Junior Warden, is responsible for the historic St. Stephen’s property. The land on the corner of James and Mulberry Streets was acquired in June 1856 and the construction of the church began that summer. The first service was held in May 1857. Additions for the office, Parish Hall and Sunday school rooms were constructed over the next century. We are currently undergoing a major restoration of the buildings, windows, stained glass and landscaping.   It has been and continues to be a long and expensive process, but one we feel is necessary to maintain the health of our historic church. We look forward to the coming months when the current renovation projects are complete allowing us to enjoy the buildings we have worked so hard to preserve.  Sub-committees include Grounds, Playground and the Columbarium committees.
